Cabot Pueblo Museum

We went to town yesterday to run some errands and saw a sign for the Cabot Museum. We had been told that this was a place not to be missed during our visit, so we headed there. What a surprise, this man Cabot Yerxa built his castle completely out of materials he found in the desert. In all there are 30 rooms and they connect by narrow halls and stairs. It contains 150 windows and 65 doors, 17 of which lead to the outside.P1010790

The architecture is Hopi Indian style.

What an amazing man. We went on a guided tour and the guide told us his story.

I told you that Gorgie was going to do water aerobics, well she marched up there only to discover it started at 9:00AM, not 10:00AM. So today she is going to get there at the proper time. Isn’t wonderful when you get your times and sometimes the days of the week mixed up? We must be having a good time.

This sculpture is by the same artist, Peter Toth that did the sculpture that is in Ester Short Park in Vancouver.
